Traffic Load Distribution in Ad Hoc Networks through Mobile Internet Gateways
نویسندگان
چکیده
Ad hoc networks were initially conceived as stand-alone entities without connection to any external infrastructure. A possible solution to give access to ad hoc terminals to the Internet trough conventional WLAN networks is described in the mobile multi-gateway support. This scheme proposes to utilize a mobile node within the transmission range of the WLAN access point as a connecting gateway between the MANET and the Internet. As the gateway can move, its functionality can be transferred to another node present in the cover area of the access point acting as a router. In any case, all the traffic flowing to/from Internet passes through the same node, which can impose a bottleneck in the system. In this paper, a modification is suggested to distribute the Internet traffic among different gateways.

متن کاملQoS based Analysis of Proxied Adaptive Gateway Discovery Scheme for Mobile Ad hoc Networks
One of the most important aspects a effecting the overall QoS performance of hybrid mobile ad hoc networks is the efficient discovery of Internet gateways. So many previous papers addressed the problem of interconnecting Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET) to the Internet, via one or more attachment points called gateways. The protocol employed to discover available gateways and set up routes to the...
متن کاملImprovement of the mechanism of congestion avoidance in mobile networks
Mobile ad hoc network congestion control is a significant problem. Standard mechanism for congestion control (TCP), the ability to run certain features of a wireless network, several mutations are not common. In particular, the enormous changes in the network topology and the joint nature of the wireless network. It also creates significant challenges in mobile ad hoc networks (MANET), density ...
متن کاملIntegration of Mobile-IPV6 and Olsr for Inter-Monet Communications
Trends in fourth generation (4G) wireless networks are clearly identified by the full-IP concept where all traffic (data, control, voice and video services, etc.) will be transported in IP packets. MObile NETwork (MONET) is a group of mobile nodes moving together as a unit. Such groups are common characteristics of the vehicular environments, for example train and buses (which are attractive be...
متن کاملReducing Inconsistent Context Problem on Providing Internet Connectivity for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks
This paper discusses a class of problem, called inconsistent context, .which appears due to the mobility of ad hoc nodes among multi-homed Internet domains, the ad hoc routing forwarding strategies, and the requirement of backward/ forward traffic of 2-way connection, e.g. TCP, which must be transmitted through the registered Internet gateways. Solutions are then proposed, which either reduce o...
